Built to help people find each other

Finding a good accountant, a dentist taking new patients, or an electrician who turns up when they said they would is harder than it should be. The information is scattered across old listings, group chats and word of mouth, and much of it is out of date.

This platform exists to fix a narrow version of that problem: one place to look, for one region, where the details are checked and the listings are kept current. Today that is 477 businesses across 31 municipalities and 15 categories.

How we make money, and how we do not

We do not sell leads, take a commission on work booked, or charge a business to appear in search results. A basic listing is free and stays free. We sell advertising, and an advert is always labelled as one — it never changes where a business ranks in a search.

No listing here carries anyone’s endorsement but our own, and our own is limited to exactly what we say on the trust and verification page. A badge means we checked something specific; it is not a review, and we do not vouch for the quality of anyone’s work.

How listings get here

• Owners submit their business and a person reviews it before it is published.
• Owners claim an existing listing to keep it accurate, after we verify they are connected to the business.
• Anyone can report something that is wrong — a disconnected number, a moved address, a business that has closed.

Who this is for

Any business operating in Southern Ontario, and anyone looking for one. A one-person trade working out of a van belongs here as much as a clinic with twenty staff, and neither pays to be found.

Listing is open to every legitimate Canadian business in the region. There is no membership, no association to join, and no criteria beyond being a real business that a real person can reach.

Where this is going

The directory is the first piece. Reviews, events and job postings are planned, each one only when it can be done properly — we would rather run one thing that works than five that half do.
